>Venerable Flackville?

>I do not believe it. Popped up on Google Maps: Indianapolis has a neighborhood called “Venerable Flackville.”

Srsly.

I have no idea how I could have lived here most of my adult life and missed it until now. You’d think there’d be a sign.

    >respect the Google. One of those "map traps" or "copyright traps" that mapmakers tend to use to see if their hard work is being ripped off?

    >Flackville is/was a "crossroads town" that got swamped by suburban development after World War II. (Eagledale, to the west, was the big National Homes subdivision during the 50s, back when Lafayette Road was US-52 to Chicago.) There are a bunch of these in the metro area (even Broad Ripple was "country" until the 1920s).

    >Standard Mischief: If so, they faked up a lot of general Google entries.
