>Ahhhh, The Weekend

26 Mar

>You’d think after missing two days of work last week, I’d find the weekend redundant. Nope. Last week felt like it lasted a month — uphill both ways!

Woke up to the lunatics inside my TV chirpily predicting “accumulating snow” starting this evening, so I pulled the covers over my head and went back to sleep. It didn’t help; they were making the same forecast when I woke up again an hour later.

And that brings us to here: cats fed, coffee made, bloggage posted. Now it’s time to make breakfast!

    >"Accumulating snow"?? Well, I guess you gotta expect that, living near the Arctic Circle like you do…But I'm sure the cats are glad you're feeling better too.

    >Good to hear you're better. But, I understand the 'I've been out, I shouldn't have time off' thing. I'm on disability (for the moment) but, as much as I'd like it to be, it's not vacation. Seriously, enjoy your weekend, bask in it!

    >Cats, coffee, breakfast? Sounds like a decent Saturday morning, snow or not. :-)Jim

    >I continue to fail to understand your wake-up call. It would have roughly the same effect on me as having an alarm clock that actually hit me on the head with a hammer.

    >I didn't set it, I just let it come on. As a result, I woke up slowly. I sleep, um, soundly. Heavily. When the dawn arrives, I wake like a troll, which is to say, not hardly. Normal routine: 1. Cellphone rings at :15 'til the hour 2. Cellphone plays annoying tune at :59. 3. :00, TV goes off at max undistorted volume. 4. :00 Clock radio beeps loudly 5. :00.2 I hit the snooze button and possibly fade down TV, then fall asleep. 6: :09 Clock radio beeps. I hit snooze button, may or may not awake. 6b: (:00 – :15) Hungry cats dance across bed and me. 7. 6/6b continue until bottom of hour, when Tam, annoyed by the noise, enters room and asks me if I will sleep forever?

    >LabRat,She's not kidding. Corpses sleep lighter.

    >I understand perfectly the wake up routine. My on switch is very difficult to reach and does have safety controls! Glad you are feeling better!

    >I used to be similar. Housebreaking three puppies was an effective cure.Nowadays I quite literally sleep through explosions (the Lab's explosive range is close enough that Pajarito Canyon acts like an echo chamber and rattles our windows everytime they touch off a firecracker), but anything higher-pitched than Barry White catapults me to instant wakefulness.
